If you aren't a Pryankster, could you still read my prior post, and let me know:

If you have ever seen us dance, what would you like to see at our website; what information would you like to find?

If you have NEVER seen us dance, or heard of us....how would you be looking for us? How would you look for English Country Dance, or Rennaissance Performers, or whatever? How would you search for us in Google.

If you have any kind of interest in folk dance or music--or costuming--or Rennaissance Faires, or historical recreation----tell me what that interest is. What would attract you to viewing our website, either as audience, patron, or as potential performer....or just dance/music/costume/history crackhead.

I assume some folks would search for us as "Ren Faire" +Dance Guild.

Ok, so that was a bit hyper. Was thinking of friends or folks that like to go to Fairs, and have never seen us.

Obvious. Rennaisance, Faire, Rennaisance Fair, Renn Faire, Ren Faire, Ren Fair, dance, dancers.

OK, I'm pushing it. Back to work!

Those are better search terms than "dancers in funny clothes" or "bouncy peasants at Faire."

How about "what else can I see at faire besides bare chested guys playing with mud or fire"

If I were searching (and have) I would look under:
English Country Dances 1300 to 1600
The history of Dance ca 1300 to 1600
historical reenactment, dancing
living history, dancing
reenactment, dance

maybe check out the Lively Arts History Association web page
(www.lahacal.org) they are all about historical dancing

do you use celtic music? ceolas.org has the largest collection of Celtic mustic on the internet.

http://web.ukonline.co.uk/martin.nail/Folkmus.htm
is a guide to english folk and traditional music on the internet

reenactor.net has several tools and suggestions for living history groups

maybe you could look at the country dance and song society (www.cdss.org) or the english fold dance and song society (www.efss.org) the folk dance association (www.folkdancing.org)

I use these two alot (http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/dance.html) it's the sca renaissance Dance homepage; and this one (www.rendance.org)

wow foolie...I think we just found another hobby in common...

Yep, we've got a lot of links at Norm and Ric's site---dance groups, faire groups, faires, Playford info, and music info (thank you to [livejournal.com profile] barnabas_truman for clueing me into the ABC notation system).

But more links is goodness!

Well, I knew you liked faires...didn't know you liked dance. English Country, contra, Irish?.....

SORRY!! We had storms and then email when down.
I think what we mainly do is English Country.
I am actually a highly dorky dancer. =D
I just learn when ever they teack a class and show up every time there is a Ball at a local SCA event. My 2 funnest dancing memories were 1. flipping out the "royal court" dancers at the KCRF one year (one of my close friends is one of their dancers and they do the courtly flirty type dances) I was dressed in mundane clothes and durring 'hole in the wall' he pulled me into the dance and I finished it with him without missing a beat! =) 2. Several of my friends are in the SCA and we all dance, well at one of their weddings (where we were all bridemaids and groomsmen) we danced the (I know I'm spelling this wrong) 'karabushka' a russian folk dance that is all stompy and spinny and turny and looked really cool! Well 2 years later we were at kittykat's wedding, and most of us were in her wedding party (again) and she wanted to dance the karabushka so we had the DJ play "my chrona"; you can dance the dance to it but you DIE at the end because it is so FAST! Well we all danced and when we finished there was much gasping for breath and loud clapping by the audience. Before the night was over the DJ DEMANDED we do "that dance" again cause he had "never seen anything look that cool!" before. =D
good times good times

And per [livejournal.com profile] serendipity17's note, which do you prefer to squee....half naked guys eating and falling in mud,

or half naked guys playing with fire and attempting to light their nipples?

Um, maybe you have to come out to California for that one.
