Would love some new communities. I know, LJ has too many communities. I’d like to add to the one or two more to the teaming, steaming throng.
Maybe three.

1. Most everyone whom I read has mentioned events they wanted their friends to know of. Well, maybe some of my friends would too. Shows, programs. One community for RL events, with limited runs, or one day events.

2. Recipes? This sounds so….hausfrau. But, I posted a few weeks ago about needing cheap and portable lunches….how to assemble them quickly, or make them en masse on weekends. Another acquaintance was concerned about lo-cal foods. Another is getting his household together, and I suspect wants to learn to make simple meals and lunches. serendipity17 and lrc love to experiment. I used to post my weekend food experiments on my old BB, when I used to cook more.

3. If we have recipes, we need a link for knitting and crochet patterns that we’ve found….free on line or places to order. Pryanksters and adjuncts are full of yarn junkies. If you’ve found a pattern that works….or some monstrosities that don’t, we need a place to note it.

Although to be honest, agengrgal introduced me to some fantastic websites through her knitting communities. Where I discovered "You're Putting Me On!" socks, and kilt hose (lovely!)

I still need to finish up the pseudo Pryankster website. Also need to get before June so that I may transfer this little seedling. Yes, it’s a fake website. But it’s my baby, and my first with FrontPage. I want to see if I can get all the bells, whistles, and forms that my teacher wanted to see.

(However, it does make me appreciate html and xml. FrontPage is great….if it’s on your computer. Cannot do the whole server side updates and changes at work, because we don’t HAVE FrontPage of any kind at work. And no, they won’t load it. ).

OK, back to work and further posts. And remember that vow about not buying little snacks for health and wealth reasons.
Well, I ran out of green tea, so I walked to CoHo to buy a large mug. Came back with Numi Chai, with honey, soy milk…..and a hot fresh baked cinnamon roll. Oy-yum.

There are several knitting communities... the one my friends most reccomend is punk_knitters.

http://daviswiki.org/ has several events boards. pretty informative.

and http://www.heb.com/mealtime/DT.do has daily ideas for yummy, quick dinners. I have a couple other sites if you are interested too.

and regarding the website, bring it up that you have made one and are willing to maintain it. I dont think our current one is getting maintained, due to health issues.

Good sites those....and I think I found punk knitters through agengrgal. Just thought....(do that occasionally)....a community for those that I know those events that people tell me about....or that I get through newsletters or word of mouth. Like the native plant lecture. Sierra's notice that her niece was in PofP. Shows at Yoshi's for folks in the East Bay. When UCD has walks with Warren (1st Wed of the month), because if I can't ever get to the Arb walks, someone else should.

And if anyone has something they know of (more corset classes?) they can post it.
And could have links to the Palms, daviswiki.org or the Davis co-op news, events calendar of UC Dateline for events, art showings, lectures on campus, PoetryFlash listings, etc.

I like a recipe community for stuff we discover....but yeah, more food sites are good. I'm partial to prowling through FoodNetwork.com, but that's because I used to watch Alton Brown.
And I just like a page where the Serendipty suppers can be posted. Not just stuff from Serendipity17, but any of those "Damn, I didn't think you could mix those and let your taste buds survive" discoveries.
And, we did have people who seem to like swapping ideas on food prep, meal planning, diet ideas, etc. (And yes, have added heb.com to my own computer links!

More on the webpage later. There are a few pages that would still have to be 'faked': my teacher wanted us to make order forms and such (that's why I wanted to create non-existent products to sell).

Of course, I could always creat those and just make them non-public. (Want to show my former teacher my progress, as this grows.)
