Royal Scottish Dance Society of SF has monthly parties on First Saturdays--but I think you'd best know your stuff.

May 23 in Palo Alto was where I attended church (and church choir) as a kid. Mom was on the Playground Committee when they updated from wood/metal/tanbark to plastic/rubber tire chips. Kindergarten choir starts with long boards to visually represent whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes so we can actually read the music rather than learning by ear and repetition.

This is so off topic but I must note, by decree of Emperor Norton, "Whoever after due and proper warning shall be heard to utter the abdominal word 'Frisco,' which has no linguistic or other warrant, shall be deemed guilty of a High Misdemeanor."

That said I hope you have merry dances, I wish I could join but will be swamped with my surprisingly busy life.
