Just a day to write

temperance14Retreat, retrench, reflect, rest. Should have been on picket line, but feeling sick and headachey. Need to rest for father’s doc appoint. tomorrow.
Everyday I want to write---and every time I get the time/privacy opportunity, I procrastinate—it’s after 4pm!. How can you hate to do something that you love to do? How can you make yourself escape something that is ordinarily addictive?
Because it’s public? Because you know it will never be the full truth? Because you know you will censor your expression?
On with it—LJ posts must be done today; We will see if we are successful at this doc appointment attempt.. Will Dad go to see the Redwood doctor, or will he get tired, restless, irritated or fearful/angry? This appointment has been put off for so long, due to delays by father or brother.
One victory in the health care battle: on-call physician at SJ Kaiser finally agreed to fax father’s prescription to assisted living plaza. Hydrochlorthiazide and Atenol--surprised they have not added anything for diabetes, but apparently he remains borderline, despite his own sabotage over the years. Nurse at A.L plaza recommends Zoloft or Paxcil for depression/anxiety, and Aricept, new drug in treatment of Alzheimer’s. Yep, we are looking at that ghost again. I knew the memory loss was expanding, but seeing watching his behavior last time I stayed over….it did indeed look like Sundowner syndrome.
Nurse at A.L. plaza is considering possibility of Alzheimer’s after he thought another woman at plaza was mom. When woman’s husband told him to leave her alone, he threatened to hit the man. This within his first month there. Oy.
Love to all. Heard from three pryanksters today. Two needed help and I couldn’t assist them much, I’m afraid. One I called because her LJ post sounded needful—she’s ok and has an army to back her up (love our Teddy![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
barelyproper). And the LJ of one of our prodigals sounded lonely, but he has back up from Sailor Pryank/ psychababble, she who doth rock.
I wish we had helped him feel more at home---would he mind visiting us and singing for us again? Perhaps he might cheer us instead.
