EZ Boy chair--LONG SHOT request

Do your parents or grandparents have an EZBoy or "Barcalounger" chair? The kind that has a control wand to bring the foot rest up and down, and change the angle of the chair?

Wanna mess with mine?

When we pulled Dad's old furniture out of the care home, we stored it at my house. In the process of unloading the lounge chair, the control/slide mechanism under the chair swung down (it wasn't supported)---and now its stuck there. The chair is angled sharply forward. We've tried plugging it in, but we can't get the damn thing to move. If not, it goes to the dump when I next rent a truck.

I need to get this fixed if I want to offer it on freecycle, or haul it to The Mission or Goodwill for donation.

Any mad scientists want to swing by my my junkyard my garage and tinker?
