Screened inquiry about screened inquiries--THAT meme

The "Ten things you really want to tell people--for good or for bad."

For those that participated:
The questions I saw seemed to range from the usual support and affirmations we give each other (yeah LJ families) to the stuff you've been wanting to get off your chest.

But why don't we just send these in an e-mail to the person in question? Does the meme make it safer, more distant?
Did you hope it would allow the other person to say, "Naw,it's someone else"?
Did you have multiple people to whom it applied?
Or did you filter it so that the person did not see it, and you got to anonymously vent to others, without naming names. (Just curious if anyone did this.)

And yes, I'm going to screen this so that only I can see the answers.
