And i just occured to me (Googledipity)

Need more large scarves.
I could sew those...once I get the sewing desk cleared off..
aha! I could knit or crochet scarves--I've done it before for long, round he neck "oblong" scarves (why does fashion call them oblongs?). But that would be a bit heavy, and pull on the hair and get tangled..

aha again! Snoods! Researched snoods two years ago, let's see what's on the ninnynet.
Snood page...snood page...

and aha three! Why didn't I ever think of looking at "modesty" sites? (Well, aside from my religious persuasion, yeah...)
Yes, there are 'modesty' sites. And a great one for conservative Jewish women. And it has snoods! Sewn however.

and most suprising aha four: dog snoods? [livejournal.com profile] klellingson, explain please?

:D! Tee Hee! :)

What modesty sites did you find? Which one were you referring to when you mentioned conservative Jewish women?

I have chosen my least modest bunny icon for this. Heh.

Covering Our Hair, (http://www.fmfcorp.com/familyspot/haircover.html) focus on conservative judaeic modesty, but includes wide variety of page sites, including chemo hats.

Veiled Glory (http://veiledglory.wordpress.com/2007/09/17/crocheted-snood-patterns/)...not much info, mostly links to modesty sites, and other peoples, patterns. But interesting.

and of course, About.com, Crochet. (http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa080898.htm). PLEASE ignore their renaissance costume link. You know what's coming: commercial site with 'renaissance' costumes, used here for reference examples.

The first link will have the best ideas for snoods---but few of them knit or crocheted.

Oh, look a caul cap! I'm guessing a high one would look like a chef's cap...
